3-D, Fall 2009, Made from Vintage Silver Spoons... What a project! This is by far the most challenging project I have had so far. The experience came in handy for the bronze sculpture later. Thank you Mr. Fuson, for putting me through Hell...It was worth the effort!

Sorry I haven't been on my blog for a while. They are keeping me pretty busy at school! Here are some pieces I have been working on at school.

Slab Pot #1... The overall piece isn't that great, but the colors are nice.

Pinch Pot #1... I love the form of this one...cool, irregular edges.

Coil Pot #1... This one is very tall...about 2'!

Coil Pot #2 with fun and crazy edges!

Coil Pot #3...this series is my favorite!!!

Coil Pot #4... I love the color of the glaze on this one.

Coil Pot #5... Similar to the first 3, but with more graceful edges on top.

This Piece I made for my 3-D class... it's entirely out of matt board. Each form is made of one piece of matt board that is cut and scored to be folded. For example, the silver, polygonal form on the top is all one piece of matt board...what a challenge! If you look in the tubes, you can see through the piece. There are mirrors inside to make you look out a tube that you are not expecting.

ALTERED PING-PONG BALLS...

What an interesting project. My latest assignment in my 3-D class is to alter ping-pong balls beyond recognition... They are to be interesting enough so if a common passer-by is intrigued enough to pick them up. I was to do some by subtracting from the ball to create a new object and the rest I was to add to them for the same type of effect. Texture, color, shape and visual interest are all very important in this project. I tried my best to make the viewer ponder what each object may be and the material in which it may have been constructed. This was a fun project!

STUDIO REMODEL ONGOING...

Well, I am making sloooooooow progress, but I am making progress on "Willow Brook Studio". As you can see I have gotten some of the walls with a fresh coat of paint. My cabinets are hand-me-downs from a friend in St. Joe who got them from a dentist's office several years ago. I tell you, Mr. Clean Erasers are fantastic! They don't last long, but they do a great job on white surfaces! What has slowed me down on the renovation is that we needed to expand our Ice Cream Shoppe, Snow Ball. So, for the past several weeks I have dedicated any free time I have had to that project. It is getting really close to being complete. I will keep you informed on my progress. I can't wait to have you here for art classes!

I am still working on the Studio...

I had to stop and focus completely on remodeling and expanding our Snow Ball Ice Cream Shoppe. I will keep you informed.

I have wanted to offer art classes for years to my customers, but never had the space. I am renovating my 2 back storage rooms to make one big studio to accommodate 10-15 students. I have plans of offering a variety of classes and mediums with which to work. I will be using this blog to keep you informed of upcoming classes, student projects and my personal work. I am planning on the studio being complete my mid to late June. I can't wait! You are going to love it! I will be starting a separate email list for Willow Brook Studio.

STUDIO???

This is the future home of my studio... Willow Brook Studio. I know it does not look like much now, but I have big plans for this space over the next couple of months. I will definitely post new pictures when this project is complete. Wish me luck!
